Whether you need to satisfy PCI DSS 11.3 or simply want to understand what holes a hacker can exploit, a penetration test is for you. Spohn offers both internal and external penetration testing, both on and off hours performed by a live person who specializes in nothing but security assessments and penetration testing.
Once probable vulnerabilities have been identified, through either an Enterprise Security Assessment, Network Security Assessment or a Perimeter Security Assessment, a Penetration Test deploys known attack methods to exploit those vulnerabilities.
The intent of a penetration test or PEN test is to determine feasibility of an attack and the amount of business impact of a successful exploit.
At its simplest, a PEN test is the process of actively evaluating your information security measures. Information systems are tested to find any security issues, as opposed to using only theoretical or paper-based audits.
The results of the PEN test are documented in the Remediation Database and in Detailed and Summary reports. Findings are presented at a debriefing session, where questions will be answered and corrective strategies discussed.
